Yzerfontein is an idyllic little coastal town and a holiday favourite for many visitors to the West Coast. It is situated just up the west coast a mere 95 km from Cape Town. The 25km shoreline is unbroken and lies adjacent to the West Coast National Park and Postberg Nature Reserve.
The town is a wonderful family destination and the children love to fish from the shore and play among the rock pools, while mom and dad enjoy long walks on this pristine beach. It offers all who venture there the opportunity for real relaxation and a chance to get back to nature where you’ll certainly find what we all need in abundance – peace and tranquility.
Yzerfontein has an abundance of birdlife, and when in season the town is covered in beautiful wild flower display. You might be lucky to see some whales in season as they pass along the coast to calve in St Helena Bay.
