Langebaan is a beautiful coastal town on the West Coast, situated on the eastern shore of Langebaan Lagoon, 120km north of Cape Town, just off the R27.   The main beach is an ideal place for Kite Surfers and Calypso Beach is situated on the edge of the lagoon where the water is warmer and the beach is easily accessible and privacy is of the essence.

The mild climate and protected waters of the lagoon make Langebaan popular for sailing, kayaking, kitesurfing, and fishing, and the town offers numerous holiday facilities for water sports enthusiasts.

The Town has much to offer in the form of entertainment for the not-so-active visitor,  as the restaurants are close to the beach, and guests are within most amenities. For those that enjoy gambling and various shows, the casino supplies that in abundance.

The Langebaan Lagoon was formed by the rising and falling of sea levels during pre-historic times. This is unlike most lagoons which form where freshwater rivers enter the sea. As a result, Langebaan Lagoon is purely a saltwater lagoon.
