About Quay West
Where is Quay West situated? Only at the most spectacular friendly town of Velddrif. Known as the Gateway to the Bokkom Republic. Here you have 300 days per year of sunshine and an often rather frisky southeaster. Velddrif is one of South Africa’s best holiday destinations, especially for all kinds of water sports, friendly village atmospheres, and spectacular scenery, in other words, the “best-kept secret of the West Coast”.
Quay West is a cosy, Double-storey self-catering upmarket (4-star standards) lock-up-and-go holiday home situated in Velddrif Quays, close to the Berg River (second row).
On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen with granite counter/dining and lounge area which leads to an outside covered terrace with braai. Here families and friends can enjoy quality time together.
The top level hosts the Master bedroom with Queen size bed, a separate dressing area, and a spacious ensuite bathroom with toilet, basin, and shower with shower panel. The bedroom leads to the comfortable balcony for sunbathing. Equipped with ceiling fan, safe, and hairdryer.
The second bedroom consists of 2 extra length single beds which are pushed together to form a King size bed. The small ensuite bathroom has a toilet, basin, and shower. The balcony faces limited views of the Berg River.
The “home from home” is fully equipped with SMART-TV (with Easy View Multichoice subscription and/or access to your own Netflix account) dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, oven and hob, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, electric blankets. In wintertime, the gas fireplace in the lounge will keep you warm.
A double kayak is available for you at little extra charge (the Berg River is approx. 40 m away, the jetty approx. 90 m).

Although only 90 minutes’ drive from Cape Town North on the R27, Velddrif has only a tenth of Cape Town’s annual rainfall. Great for weekenders right through the year. Why spend a weekend in the rain when, in under two hours you can be having a braai in the sunshine at your holiday home Quay West?
