The Cedar Mountains, derived its name from the Clanwilliam cedar tree (Widdringtonia cedarbergensis).  It only grows in the Cederberg mountains and it represents one of only 1 000 surviving conifer species in the world, which now face possible extinction.

It is unspoiled and you will enjoy birding and swimming in rock pools.  On your hiking trails take note of the delicate Bushman rock art.
