Maltese Cross Walk:
The Maltese Cross Walk is a must-do hike for adventure seekers visiting the Cederberg Wilderness Area. Taking approximately 3.5 to 4 hours to complete, this walk is an exciting challenge on a well-marked path with stunning views. To embark on this journey, visitors must first obtain a permit from the Dwarsdrivier Farm or the Algeria Forest Station. The walk begins with a relatively flat terrain, gradually turning into a moderate incline towards the Maltese Cross. Although younger children may find the uphill section challenging, the breathtaking vistas of the Cederberg mountain range make the climb worthwhile. The return journey is an easy downhill, with picturesque spots for rest and refreshments along the way. Covering a total distance of 7km, the Maltese Cross Walk is highly recommended to those exploring the area.

Bouldering in Rocklands:
Rocklands, located 250km north of Cape Town, is renowned for its world-class bouldering. This stunning semi-desert area, surrounded by the Cederberg mountains, offers both bouldering and sport climbing opportunities. While bouldering dominates the scene, the region also boasts a wide range of quality sport climbing routes. All sport climbing routes are single pitch, and visitors may need to walk short distances between different areas. It is important to note that permits must be obtained for climbing on CapeNature land. Although bouldering permits are not covered by Wild Cards, day fees are applicable for some areas located on private farms. The fine-grained sandstone, known for its medium hardness and varied features, provides an excellent climbing experience. While planning their visit, climbers should allocate rest days to allow their skin to recover from the rough rock surfaces. Exploring Rocklands promises an adventure-filled experience for climbers of all skill levels.

Sevilla Rock Art Trail:
For those fascinated by history and indigenous cultures, the Sevilla Rock Art Trail is a remarkable adventure in the Cederberg Wilderness. This 5km trail follows the Brannewyn River, leading visitors to nine sites of ancient rock art paintings left behind by the San people, who inhabited the region for thousands of years. The trail offers a captivating glimpse into the world of these early inhabitants, showcasing some of the finest examples of rock art in the area. Walking along the trail is relatively easy, allowing visitors to soak in the inspiring atmosphere. In spring, the trail is enhanced by the vibrant beauty of wildflowers. As visitors explore the trail, they may also encounter small game, dassies, baboons, and a rich variety of indigenous plant species and birds. The Sevilla Rock Art Trail is an enlightening and engaging adventure for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
